Cool threads: SJ Museum of Quilts & Textiles
January 7, 2017
If you think quilting is for grandmas, think again. Today’s quilting artisans span all age groups with quite innovative styles to boot. Graphic design, bold color stories, and modern art are major influences in 21st century quilting. The San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles is a beautiful and welcoming venue that features the latest and greatest artists in the field. They also have classes of everything fiber and quilt-related so it’s the perfect place to get inspired as well as hands-on. They are also part of South First Fridays every first Friday of the month. Their current exhibition is The California Art Quilt Revolution: From the summer of love to the new millennium.
